Albury Occasional Childcare & Early Leanring Centre
Our Childcare Centre is the longest running child-care service in the Albury-Wodonga area (over 50 years). We are a not-for-profit, community-based organisation managed by a committee of volunteer parents. We view childhood as a unique and valuable stage of life. We are fully committed to the individual care and overall development of each child, in partnership with the family.
Albury Occasional Childcare and Early Learning Centre (AOCELC) is a multi-aged group facility catering for 29 children, including babies (from 6 weeks), toddlers and pre-schoolers. We are an Australian Government approved child care centre. Families whom are eligible for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) can utilize this benefit to reduce the fees they pay for the care of their child.

Our Program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (as developed collaboratively by the Australian State and Territory governments in 2010) which considers the frameworks’ five learning goals. These goals assist children to develop;
- A strong sense of their identity
- Connections with their world
- A strong sense of well being
- Confidence and involvement in their learning; and
- Effective communication skills.
Our Philosophy

- Are the most important people in a child’s life
- Are welcome at the service at any time and can work with educators to ensure best results/transitions for their children
- Can contribute by volunteering time as a committee member and/or share a passion or skill with the children

- Need to feel secure, safe, happy, respected, listened to and be able to explore play using a variety of resources.
- Will benefit from the home-like environment of multi-aged grouping. With positive guidance and mutually respectful relationships with educators, children can take measured risks within a safe environment.
We believe our educators…
- Will provide a home-like atmosphere in a learning environment that welcomes children and their families and respects individual needs.
- Support and encourage children’s learning through observation, planning, documentation, evaluation and reflection, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework. Children’s learning will be scaffolded (adjusting support techniques to suit the individual child) by educators which is communicated with parents to providing a holistic approach to their development.
- Children are encouraged to make their own choices in a fun and warm atmosphere where dedicated educators will abide by the Centre’s Policies and Procedures, Department of Education regulations and Australian Early Childhood Code of Ethics.
Educators are committed to a collaborative, supportive workplace with on-going professional development through formal education and training, in-house knowledge sharing and on-the-job coaching/ learning experiences.

Our Process
Parent Visits
If you are interested in Albury Occassional Childcare & Early Learning Centre, you’re invited to come in and do a tour of the facility, meet our staff and ask us any questions. Visits can be arranged by appointment any weekday by contacting us on (02) 6021 6545.
Please select a date and time that work for you and we will schedule your tour. We encourage you to bring along your little one for some staff greetings and a little playtime in our friendly centre.
Bookings & Cancellations
Bookings can be made via phone or email, a maximum of two weeks in advance at any time. All bookings that are not cancelled either by phone or e-mail will be charged at full fees for the time booked.

Registration Process
After you’ve had a chance to visit us and meet our team, the next step is to submit your registration.
You can receive our registration forms at our premises or download them here and return them filled in when you visit us next.
Child Registration
In order to start the registration process, you need to complete our Child Registration Forms and provide them to us via email or directly at the centre.
